Observation conditions for industry rankings
Starting with the Tax Accountant AI Search Ranking, GEO Meter will progressively expand industry-specific rankings.
We use three criteria when selecting industries:
- Public information must exist — Firm names and service names are publicly available, and there is a baseline of AI search mentions
- Specialization can be sub-segmented — Observation targets can be narrowed down by "region × specialty"
- Customers are starting to use AI search — Search behavior exists as a valid observation subject
We will progressively cover industries that meet all three.
Industries planned next
Phase 1 (June – July 2026)
Law firms
- Observation axes: 5 Tokyo wards × 5 specialties (corporate law / labor / IP / inheritance / real estate)
- Target readers: Corporate executives, HR managers, SMB representatives
- Matching by region + specialty aligns with customer behavior
Clinics / Aesthetic medicine
- Observation axes: 5 Tokyo wards × 5 specialties (aesthetic dermatology / aesthetic surgery / dentistry / internal medicine / ophthalmology)
- Target readers: Consumers and patients
- Genuine-demand queries like "[ward] reputation clinic" exist
- However, observation design must account for the Medical Advertising Guidelines
Phase 2 (August – September 2026)
Real estate brokerage
- Observation axes: Tokyo 23 wards + major stations × buy / rent / investment
- Target readers: Home buyers, investors
- The industry is large and AI search usage is expanding rapidly
Administrative scriveners / labor & social security attorneys
- Observation axes: 5 Tokyo wards × specialties (construction permits / residency status / subsidies / labor management)
- Target readers: SMB executives, sole proprietors
- A GEO strategy in coordination with the tax accountant industry is feasible
Phase 3 (October – December 2026)
B2B SaaS / IT services
- Observation axes: By domain (sales enablement / accounting / HR / marketing / customer support)
- Target readers: Corporate buyers, department heads
- "Vendor comparisons" are frequently performed via AI search
EC / D2C
- Observation axes: Domain × category (cosmetics / food / apparel / home appliances / general merchandise)
- Target readers: Consumers
- "[Product] recommended" / "[Product] comparison" are typical queries
Direction of GEO strategy in each industry
The GEO tactics that produce results differ by industry. GEO Meter will provide analysis optimized per industry.
Professional services (tax accountants / lawyers / administrative scriveners)
- Strategy centered on matching by region + specialty
- Robust "case study pages" and "FAQ pages" directly drive citation acquisition
- Exposure on third-party media (e.g., tax-accountant comparison sites) also has a large impact
Medical
- Information must be published in compliance with advertising regulations (Medical Advertising Guidelines)
- Patient testimonials and case-study photos face heavy restrictions, so "physician background," "qualifications held," and "track record" — which AIs tend to cite — become the focus
- llms.txt + structured data adoption can serve as a differentiator
Real estate
- Area information + property type comprehensiveness is critical
- As AI evaluates "regional expertise," publishing local news and regional information is important
- Schema.org adoption such as
RealEstateListingis also a key
B2B SaaS
- Exposure in comparison articles and third-party reviews is essential
- Official documentation and use-case collections are easier for AI to pick up
- Citation rate rises when "clear differentiation versus competitors" is documented
EC
- Structuring of product name, specs, and reviews is central
- Correct implementation of
ProductSchema andAggregateRating - Real review counts and ratings become AI citation sources (false data violates the Premiums and Representations Act — caution required)
Foundations common across industries
Even when industries differ, the following foundations work for every industry:
- Setting up llms.txt
- Schema.org structured data
- FAQ page design
- AI crawler allow settings
"Lay the foundations first, then layer on industry-specific optimization" is the efficient investment order.
